If you, like me, find the Windows Search (file finding) tool anemic and slow, I'd like to point you to an awesome and free alternative. (By Windows Search I'm referring to the feature available from the Start menu or via WindowsKey-F).
The alternative is AgentRansack, and I've sung its praises in more detail elsewhere. See that blog entry for more details about why I love this tool (fast, shows search results in context, available as right-click within Windows Explorer, great RegEx tool, etc).
Yes, Agent Ransack is a terribly scary sounding name. I've even observed it removed from machines where I've come in to do work. I almost always install it when working on someone else's machine (with their permission), as its features are so useful. (Many may not do searching for files by name or content simply because the available tools are so poor. This one will change your mind!) It seems admins look over their shoulders and remove it without looking into what it is. I hope to spread the word so either admins will be more tolerant, or in the hope that the makers may be motivated to rename it. :-)
PS I do realize that the Windows File Find feature can be enhanced with the Indexing Service. I've never been a fan of that for various reasons.
