If you're a fan of Google maps, did you know that there's a nifty version for mobile devices? It's not just about visiting the maps.google.com web site, but rather anf app for your phone (most net-connectable phones), with some nifty advantages.
For one thing, because it's not about using your phone's web browser to visit the maps site, it leaves your browser free for other use. Also, depending on your device, there may be useful keystroke or button shortcuts for zooming and panning. See the help or options for tips and shortcuts.
Just as in the web-based maps, you can switch it to show the sattelite image or not (or the hybrid view), as well as get directions, and find local businesses, save favorites, and so forth.
Relatively new (and easy to miss) is also the nifty traffic feature (in the options menu, choose "show/hide traffic". In most major cities, you can now use your phone (even without GPS) to see how traffic is in your area. And if you DO have GPS, note that Google Maps does support GPS integration as well for some phones.
You can learn more at http://www.google.com/gmm/index.html, but more important, if you visit that page from your phone's browser, it will detect your device and let you know both if it's supported, how to use it on your phone, and of course offers the download for your device.
