If you have a Treo 700 (Palm or Windows), there's a quick and easy solution to the challenge some face of hitting the touchscreen by mistake during a call and dropping it doing something else unexpected. You can disable the screen during a call. Here's how.
Now you may, like me, have seen or heard about that feature and thought, "well, I want to be able to still go to my contacts during a call, or dismiss an alert that pops up." Don't worry, you still can. You just need to use the buttons, keyboard, and navigator, not the touchscreen.
The following is from a Treo newsletter I go today:
For Palm OS smartphones:
1. Press Applications and select Prefs.
2. Select Keyguard.
3. Check the On A Call box.
4. Select Done.
For Windows Mobile smartphones:
1. Press Start and select Settings.
2. On the Personal tab, select Keyguard.
3. Set the Disable Touchscreen option.
4. Press OK.
